Gallery: some examples of my work
My figurative pieces are inspired by the beauty and movement of the human form and by ancient Greek sculptures and Roman wall paintings. I am also interested in portraying the colours and textures of landscapes using ceramics. The wall pieces are painted with metal oxides and glazes and often fired multiple times to get the desired result. My sculptures are either glazed and fired to stoneware temperature or painted with a fine slip ‘terra sigillata’, and then fired in sawdust to create exciting and often unpredictable results.
I also make a range of porcelain vases, bowls and jugs along with mugs, cards and coasters.
I studied ceramics at Goldsmith's College, London and have been a potter in Bristol for over 20 years.
