My small vases are hand thrown out of porcelain and glazed in a variety of colours with metallic rims. They are £12 each and have been selling really well as Christmas presents. Available from my gallery on Christmas Steps. Free gift wrapping too!
Presents for men are always that bit harder to find, but these ceramic cufflinks by Julia Davey are just perfect. Available in different designs they are only £20 from the fabulous Workshop 22, Upper Maudlin Street, www.workshop22.co.uk
I saw these lovely glass and driftwood beach huts in Bristol Handmade Glass on Perry Road (www.bristolhandmadeglass.co.uk). They are made by Amanda Foster and cost £15 each. Bristol Handmade Glass also have some beautiful glass Christmas decorations for well under £20.
More candle holders, this time from Meryl Till, who is at the top of Christmas Steps. Made from porcelain they are simply stunning and look beautiful when lit up. Prices range from £10 to £20. In the background you can see some shadows of her lovely porcelain snowflake decorations.
As well as her amazing wedding dresses, Karen Reilly (at No 16 Christmas Steps, next door to me) does a wonderful range of hand made textiles, including this lovely apron. At £20 it comes in a number of gorgeous fabrics and colourways.
Each day until Christmas I will be featuring a great gift idea for under £20 from Bristol artists and makers. To get the ball rolling here are some tea light holders I've been making. Inspired by my Ripples in the Sand pieces, the candle highlights the ripple effect in the clay (with added sand). Perfect present for all those sand and surf lovers or anyone who likes to cuddle up by candlelight.
We'll be open till 8pm on Wednesday 3rd December and on Thursday 11th December so come an join us for a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie while you browse. As usual there will be free gift wrapping. The lights on the Steps look fab too.
Caroline Casswell's jewellery never fails to amaze me with all the wonderful colours she uses. We have plenty of her work in the shop at the moment.
Saturday 1st of November is the Day of the Dead and we are celebrating in the Christmas Steps Arts Quarter so come along one and all!
